What To Pack For Your Myrtle Beach Vacation

What to pack? Here are some great ideas of what to pack for your Myrtle Beach vacation.

What to pack for a Myrtle Beach Vacation1. Necessities! Make sure you have your wallet, purse, watch, cash, credit cards, ID or driver’s license, eyeglasses and/or contact lenses plus lens cleaner and your favorite drops, because salt and sand don’t do anything good for red itchy eyes. Have your prescriptions and other medications filled before you go. Make sure you have itineraries, tickets or reservation confirmations, maps or directions and don’t forget your cell phone and computer charger?

2. Clothing & Beach Items. Check the forecast before packing so you can plan for the right type of clothing.  Check weather temperatures. Have a lightweight sweater or jacket and long pants for cooler evenings. Pack beach cover-ups or roomy T-shirts to go over bathing suits when you’ve had enough sun. Hats for adults and kids too. You’ll want sunglasses with UV protection for adults, and cute ones with a strap for children. Don’t forget to pack your sandals or flip flops, they are easy to hose off. Swim diapers for the little ones. Regular diapers swell up and fall apart in the water.  Beach bags are great to put all your beach items. Sunglasses and water bottles are a must.  Beach umbrella will provide that extra sun protection.  Summer months in Myrtle Beach are hot and sunny.

3. Pack Doubles. Pack two swimsuits and beach towels per person, one will always be drying.

4. Bring a first-aid kit in case of blisters or jellyfish and be sure to include aloe for sunburn. Have waterproof sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher and bring it down to the beach all day for reapplications. Lip balm with sunscreen is a good idea too.

5. Pack a cooler if you are planning to take it to the beach. Bring lots of fluids for those really hot days. Drain your cooler & empty trash in barrels on the beach at the end of the day to make it lighter to carry back.

6. Fun stuff like floats or lifejackets for young swimmers. Pails, shovels and molds are great in the sand for playing. Frisbees, a paddleball set, bocce ball and a kite are fun beach ideas. Bring a book, magazines, music or anything you can think of for relaxing times on the beach. A tote bag is useful for those things and you can buy water proof zip bags for your wallet, keys, cell phone, speakers or anything you don’t want to get wet or sandy.

7. Beach Chairs, Beach Umbrella
